Selling Assistance

Inspection

Once it is generally agreed that I will be the Listing Broker for your boat, I will inspect the boat and provide an analysis of the general condition. I will use this information, along with sales history, and competitive comps to recommend an asking price for the boat. Once this is completed, I will prepare a listing agreement for you to sign. I cannot proceed until this agreement is in place.

Gather Details

During the inspection, I will gather a list of details about the boat, to be used in the marketing materials as well as the MLS listing. I may need to review certain documents to get some information, such as options, serial numbers, equipment documentation, recent upgrades, etc. If you have service records, I will review those and make sure they are complete and available for a prospective buyer to review.

Photos/Video

I will arrange to have professional photographs taken of the boat and, if applicable, a video of the boat. This will require you to remove any personal items and clean the boat of all unnecessary items in preparation for the photo session. You will need to arrange to have the boat underway for portions of the photo/video shoot.

Place boat on MLS

Once we have all the details and photographs/video ready, I will enter the information in to the MLS system and publish it to the public. Denison participates in multiple MLS services and also publishes our listings on over 30 separate websites.

Social Marketing

While the MLS services are important, there is more to selling a boat than putting it up on the MLS and then sitting back and waiting for the phone to start ringing. I have hundreds (thousands) of contacts in the industry that I communicate with regularly to share new listing information. I have also had some luck finding buyers through social media sources such as Facebook and Instagram. While your boat is actively for sale, I will continue to tweek social media listings and posts to generate interest. I will also continuously look for other marketing opportunities like Open Houses, Boat Shows, etc. In short, I will pull out all the stops to get your boat Seen and Sold.

Provide monthly marketing results

I will provide you with a report at the end of each month that details what marketing has been performed on your behalf, and the results those efforts provided. This report will include the number of impressions, clicks, and requests for information. We will also report any showings and the results we have gotten.

Present Offers

When offers are received, I will forward them to you for your review. You will have the option to respond with a counter, accept, or reject the offer. To assist in your decision process, I will provide you with an estimated NET CASH TO YOU number and I will discuss each offer with you to assist in your decision making process.

Assist in Survey and Closing

Once the offer is accepted, I will insure the agreed deposit is received in our escrow account and I will assist in the Survey as needed. The boat will need to be run as part of the survey and you will need to either run the boat or delegate that responsibility to a captain. The boat will be hauled (at buyer’s expense) for inspection below the waterline and returned to the slip. Once the buyer has accepted the survey and adjustments (if any) are agreed to by all parties, the closing will be scheduled. I will make sure our documentation team has all the documents prepared and ready for closing. You will receive funds by wire transfer when the closing is complete.
